lover? yes, i like cows. you like cows? and i like dogs. so did you buy it? i inherited it from my aunt. my aunt, i think, bought it back in the late '30s on a trip to england. and she lived a very long life, and at the age of 98, after she died, we were allowed to take one thing from their home. and i liked it, and so this is what i took. the artist is john emms, spelled e-m-m-s. and he's a victorian painter, born in 1843, and lives until 1912. this painting probably dates towards the end of his career. i would think this is dated in probably the 1890s or so. okay. it certainly is a mature work for him. you see the brushwork. his earlier work is a little tighter. this has much of the loose brushstroke that people really respond to. now, in the victorian era, he's a specialist in painting dogs. so this painting's a little different from him. we do have dogs, but we also have other elements here. we have a stable boy here, who had just finished milking a cow. and you see the bucket here. and what's happening is it's a little story being told here. it's an anecdotal painting, or a narrati

temperatures will be slightly below average this winter. snow lovers, take heart. there is still a chance of a major east coast snowstorm. anything is better than the 2 inches of snow we received last year. this is our outlook. in the immediate metro area, 10-14 inches. northwest suburbs, closer to 18. all of these values across the map are below our average snowfall. there is hope for snow lovers. last year, 2 inches at reagan national airport. we will see how we will do. winter does not begin for a little over a month. they have been falling all afternoon, 39 right now. these values are run anywhere from 20-25 degrees colder than yesterday. all that was expected with a big area of high pressure moving in from the northwest. 27-35 tonight. through the day tomorrow, it looks delightful. r average high is 59. looking ahead to the next seven days temperatures will be below average. a lot of sunshine for the weekend. we're keeping an eye on another coastal low pressure area. we're calling for a 30% chance of rain. if he would like more on the winter outlook check out wjla.com. you can check

miss no lover and the like the cold, but a 60 degree action of the weekend -- i am a snow lover and i like the cold. but i will take a 60 degree weekend. in downtown silver spring this morning. let us take a look of the temperatures. 39 at the storm chasers truck. a cool start. it will be a cool afternoon. here is a warming trend with our seven-day. a lot more straightforward than what we have been seeing. with a bat pending nor'easter. now that passed us, it will still be breezy, and cool with highs in the mid 50's. but look at that. we warm up into the 60's, possibly upper 60's on a sunday into monday. the next chance of rain into tuesday. overall, expect a lot of sunshine from this afternoon through the weekend combined with the warmer temperatures. very pleasant, and a little above average. that is it for the forecast. let us get our commute. i can almost see a building here. >> i am waving. a brisk morning. maryland, for the past two hours, crews still dealing with an overturned box truck. that is why it is taking so long. the tow truck has arrived. still trying to clear that fro
